Good morning and happy Monday! 🙂
You might notice that A Dancer’s Live-It looks a little different because I thought it was time to do some necessary updating. This includes my oatmeal recipes pages: stove-top, baked, and pancakes. I hope you all like the new layout! 🙂
And speaking of oatmeal, I decided to start off this week with some chocolate and hazelnuts, because why not?! I adapted The Oatmeal Artist’s original recipe for her Chocolate Hazelnut Oatmeal, but I added some extra protein to it of course.
You’ll use everything she used in her recipe, but feel free to add in 1 tbsp. of vanilla protein powder like I did! The only thing I didn’t have was hazelnut extract, so I substituted that with vanilla extract. Top it with some hazelnuts and chocolate chips and you’re guaranteed to have a marvelous Monday. 🙂
Chocolate Hazelnut Oatmeal
(Adapted from The Oatmeal Artist)
- Serves: 1
- Prep Time: 2 minutes
- Cook Time: 6-8 minutes
- Total Time: 10 minutes
1 cup milk of choice, or water (I used unsweetened vanilla almond milk)
1/2 cup rolled oats
1/4 cup plain, nonfat Greek yogurt
4 tsp cocoa powder
1 tbsp. vanilla protein powder (optional, I used it)
Pinch of salt
1/4 tsp vanilla extract (or hazelnut, if you have it)
Semi-sweet chocolate chips
A few hazelnuts
- In a small saucepan, bring milk and water to a boil, add oats, and reduce heat to medium. After a minute, add the Greek yogurt and stir well.
- After the mixture has thickened up quite a bit, add in the other ingredients and mix well until thick and creamy.
- Transfer the cooked oats to a bowl, and top with the hazelnuts and chocolate chips.
- ENJOY! 🙂
Found on my Instagram of course!
Have a marvelous day! 🙂
