Happy Monday peeps!
Twas a lovely weekend with the bf, and I’m currently en route back to my city. Back to reality for a while, I probably won’t see him for another month or so. After doing long distance for awhile you kind of get used to it…a month is nothing!
Speaking of nothing, I still don’t understand those people who eat nothing for breakfast. What are their biggest excuses?
I don’t have TIME. It’s too HARD. I don’t know what to DO. Yeah yeah yeah, I’ve heard it all before.
I always advocate for people to eat breakfast, even if they’re not necessarily “hungry” in the mornings. Why? Because breakfast is the most important meal of the day and it could help prevent those mid-afternoon binges or late-night “snack-cidents”.
An article published by Rush University’s Medical Center says, “If you start with a healthy, satisfying meal in the morning you’re less apt to nibble on less nutritious things during the day, which we often do out of hunger — you grab the first or easiest thing in front of you.”
No matter how busy you are, there are WAY more satiating options than boring cereal and milk, although you might choose that because it’s “quick”. Besides, when I used to eat cereal in the morning I was always hungry like an hour later…no thanks. Think of your body as the gas tank of your car. How is it supposed to run without fuel?
NEWS FLASH: It can’t!! Your body needs a combo of hunger-busting fiber, muscle-building protein, and energy-fueling carbs in the morning to stay full, focused, and ready to function.
If you really can’t fathom the idea of eating solid food in the morning, try my go-to smoothie recipe or blend up a scoop of your favorite protein powder with some milk and berries! Your body will thank you later.
Now have I got some recipes for you! My ladies from the BGB Community always come through, and they’ve made sure to include recipes that take practically no time or very little time to make. No matter how busy you are your body should be well-fed and happy to tackle your day. 🙂
Please give their recipes some love! <3
