How-To Tuesday: Ending Your Semester Strong

Good morning pretty people! 🙂

How are you all doing??

Sure, classes are over, but that doesn’t mean I stop dancing! 🙂

I’ve got rehearsal all week for a fabulous piece I performed last semester with a group of amazing individuals. We get to perform it again soon at a choreographic showcase in New York!

After that, it’s audition time!

No don’t worry, nothing crazy. It’s for the rising seniors of the department who are casting for their senior pieces next semester!

It will be fun!

Speaking of next semester, I can’t believe this one is already over. For those of you who still have a couple weeks left, let me help you out. We all know finals are a very stressful part of our college lives and we all dread it as the time approaches.

This one’s for you!

How To End Your Semester Strong

  1. Know where you stand
Take time to reflect on the material you covered in class and in the readings. Even if you already received high scores on previous exams, that doesn’t mean you get to slack off and then totally bomb your final.
  2. Communicate with your teacher
This is good advice for nearly every area of academics. Whenever you have an issue with a class, my greatest advice is to talk to your teacher about it. Make sure you’re open with them about where you stand, as well as any difficulties you’re having. They might even cut you some slack when grading your final assignments of the year.
  3.  Avoid distractions
Trust me, there are plenty of things you’d rather be doing than schoolwork. Last night I was writing a research paper but I thought it was more fun to sing along with Beyoncé songs and dance around my room. It’s important to manage your time well, and recognize when you can spare a few hours and when you can’t.
I finished the paper so HA!
  4. SLEEP!
Study bit by bit every day and get the sleep you need to retain information. Too many people I know just cram and cram until they’re basically brain-dead and then they can’t function. Try to get at least 7 hours!

This time of year is full of chaos between studying, still going to classes, and trying to maintain your social life. Keep your head on right and focus on the next couple of weeks. Set your goals, know where you stand, and do it right! Finish your semester strong so you can enjoy your summer! Hang in there! It’ll all be over before you know it. 🙂

Here’s some motivation for you….
