Triple Berry Oatmeal

Or as Brian Griffin and I like it call it, “Friday Eve”. 😉

So today’s recipe might be the easiest oatmeal recipe EVER. You’re going to want to eat it over and over again. I promise. This one’s for all of your breakfast-haters out there who think it takes “too long” to make breakfast in the morning.

I had to double check The Oatmeal Artist’s recipe index just to make sure, and it turns out she DOESN’T have plain ‘ol Triple Berry Oatmeal. She has Triple Berry and Banana Oatmeal. Yes, there IS a major difference!

So SCORE, no recipe copyright over here! 🙂

Okay so here’s what you need for this stupidly-simple oatmeal recipe:

  • Rolled oats
  • Your favorite frozen tri-berry blend
  • Milk of choice (or water)
  • Cinnamon
  • Vanilla extract
  • Unrefined sweetener to taste (honey, maple syrup, Stevia, etc.)
  • NOT OPTIONAL peanut butter for topping. But I showed it without….sorry, who am I?!

Triple the fruit, triple the fun. Say hello to TRIPLE BERRY OATMEAL.

Serves: 1

Ingredients

  • 1 cup milk of choice (or water, I used Unsweetened Silk Almond Milk)
  • ½ cup rolled oats
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 cup frozen tri-berry blend (blackberries, blueberries, raspberries)
  • ¼ tsp vanilla extract
  • ¼ tsp cinnamon
  • Sweetener to taste (I used Stevia drops)
  • For topping:
  • Peanut butter (optional, but I don’t recommend skipping it)

Directions

  1. Bring liquid to a boil, add oats, pinch of salt, and reduce heat to medium.
  2. Add your berries to the oatmeal after about 20 seconds. Stir.
  3. Once more of the liquid has absorbed, add vanilla extract, cinnamon, and sweetener of choice. Stir again.
  4. When you’re pleased with the consistency of the oatmeal, transfer to a bowl and add your toppings of choice! (Greek yogurt, nuts, etc.)
  5. ENJOY! 🙂
