It’s Fridayyyyy!!
Good morning beautacious readers!! ?

Mondays and Fridays are my days off so I’m hoping to do something fun yet relaxing today. As a kick-off to a fabulous weekend, let’s jump into our usual “Top 3 Friday” posts.

As always, I’m linking up with Kate, of The Domestikated Life, to bring you my “tops” of the week

There were some KILLER recipes the past week, because of 4th of July, so it was REALLY difficult for me to choose only 3. I gotcha covered though. Happy cooking and reading! <3 You’ll notice a theme of sweets….can’t help myself….

Top 3 Recipes

1. Chocolate Chip Cookie Cheesecake Bars – The Blissful Balance
I don’t think I have to give you any reasons to make these….you just HAVE TO. Christina knows what’s up in the baking department! Make these bars for your next party, or heck, make ’em today because you made it through the week.

2. Healthy Blueberry Waffles – Fit Foodie Finds
Better than the typical Eggo waffles of your childhood. And better for your bodies too! Say hello to your Saturday morning breakfast!

3. Peanut Butter Cup Banana Bread Muffins – RachLMansfield
Clearly I’m on a sweet kick here…Rachel’s recipes are always easy, delicious, and smothered in peanut butter. What else could you want in a muffin?! Especially ones that taste like a peanut butter cup. GET IN MY BELLY.

Top 3 Lows

1. Confrontational guests at work. I felt helpless because this particular guest was taking out all of his anger and frustration at my co-worker, but luckily she was very calm and handled the situation very well. But seriously, don’t talk over me when I’m trying to help you. That doesn’t help at all.
2. Working a 10.5 hour shift. Yikes! I’ve never worked a shift that long before but I have to tomorrow because two people are on vacation. At least I’ll be makin’ that dolla, right?? I plan on bringing baked goods too to help my co-worker and I maintain our sanity. Baked goods always help!
3. Gum cravings. For those of you who don’t know, I used to be what I called a “chain-chewer.” Yup, basically like a smoker, but with gum. During the worst part of my disorder, I used to chew packs and packs of sugar-free gum every day to keep me from thinking about food or hunger in between meals. It was SO BAD. It made my stomach incredibly bloated because of the sorbitol. Thankfully I quit and I haven’t chewed it in over a year, but lately I’ve been having really strong cravings and I know I’ll just get right back into it if I start again…any suggestions?

Top 3 Highs

1. Receiving a random bouquet of flowers from Cal. I cannot describe how lucky and blessed I feel to have him. They came at just the right time when I needed a pick-me-up. Aren’t these beautiful?!

2. Re-visiting my Italy travel journal. On Wednesday I was going through one of my drawers and I happened to stumble upon my travel journal from our family Italy trip, 3 years ago (already?!). It was so fun to reread everything that I experienced and it reminded me of how much I want to do more traveling within the next few years. The European way of life is SO much better and more relaxed. At least I think so!
3. Enjoying the beauty of nature. The past week has been sooo beautiful, so when I sit out on the back patio I can’t help but feel peaceful and at ease. Breathe in, breathe out. Nature is SO lovely and God is SO good.

2. Just a little mantra to remind you that you are BEAUTIFUL every single day. Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. ?

3. Davida of The Healthy Maven just returned from Iceland, and I absolutely love this picture of her. She looks so content and peaceful! Iceland is #1 on my travel bucket list right now. Seriously, what am I waiting for?

Top 3 Reads

1. 3 Things I Discovered When I Stopped Weighing Myself – Jenn Hand
If you haven’t check out Jenn’s blog yet, you really should. She specializes in helping women find freedom with food, especially those who have struggled with an eating disorder, food guilt, or body image. Such a great read!
2. What I’ve Learned About Myself In Spain – Drops of Jules
If you’ve ever traveled or studied abroad, it’s obvious you’ve had to adjust to a new way of life for a bit. Even if it makes you anxious, exposure to a new culture can do wonders for your soul. Julia’s words are so accurate about her own self-discovery and appreciation. A GREAT read!
3. Why I Am Not A Vegan – Blissful Lyss
Picture me saying “yes” to almost every sentence of this post. I am in no way shaming vegans, because I’ve had some AMAZING vegan food before, but I know that my orthorexia almost caused me to want to be vegan….for the WRONG reasons. Lyss wisely reminds us all that we shouldn’t make a diet or lifestyle change for those reasons.

Now tell me…

  • Any fun plans for your weekend?
  • Do you have a top travel destination?

Well that’s all I’ve got for you today!!
Time to enjoy my day off ?

Have an amazing Friday and BE WELL my friends. <3
