Good morning party people! Just thought I’d check in on this lovely Saturday morning to say hello and HAPPY WEEKEND!
Also, I’m sorry for the absence of yesterday’s post. I had no Wifi in my apartment on Thursday but my lovely property managers are the BEST and now it’s all fixed! So how is your weekend going so far? For those of you on your last leg of spring break, I promise you you’ll make it through the next week. You might be groggy and want to cry when you wake up on Monday, but the sun is out so it’s okay!
A couple updates for you all:
- I’m planning on starting a new interview series here on the blog, so stay tuned! I’m thinking of calling it “Warrior Women Wednesday”. Self-explanatory, right? 😉 It won’t be weekly right away, but if I can make it weekly I will! In this series, I’ll feature a fellow female blogger or woman in my life who has gone through a transformative experience, inspiring journey, or something that changed their life for the better. So pumped to share the first post with you soon! 🙂
- As most of you know, I’ve been a pescetarian for almost 3 years, meaning I don’t eat any meat except for seafood. But after New Year’s, I started to reconsider the idea of adding back in another source of animal protein because protein is SO important, especially for athletes/dancers. I’m also a small-framed woman and I wouldn’t mind building more muscle if I can. When I went to a doctor’s appointment in January, she agreed with my idea and said it couldn’t hurt at all! So for about a month now, I’ve slowly been incorporating chicken and turkey back into my meals. I was nervous about the way it would affect me, but since seafood has always remained a constant in my live-it, there wasn’t much of an animal protein “reaction”. Things might’ve been different if I was a strict vegetarian. So far, I’ve been eating chicken or turkey about 1-2 times a week. 🙂
How does it make me feel? Great! It’s a little easier on my grocery bill too since seafood can be really expensive, but I don’t even buy fish in bulk. My seafood usually consists of canned tuna and/or salmon and that doesn’t cost much. Also, I have a slight obsession with a mediterranean food place around the corner. Think of it as a mediterranean version of Chipotle because you can get a pita wrap, rice bowl, or salad bowl. Lately, I’ve been having their chicken shawarma salad bowl and it’s SOOO GOOD. So chicken and I are friends again I guess. 😉
I do know that I’ll never eat beef or pork again because I never really liked it, even growing up. I have some friends (and a boyfriend) who can’t live without their steak, sausage, and burgers, but I was never that kind of meat-eater!
In case you missed it on Instagram, here’s a picture of my breakfast from Thursday. It was such a beautiful and sunny day and I thought the sunshine bowl was appropriate. 🙂 (Thanks Cal, you’re the best <3)
Well that’s it from my end, I hope you all have a rejuvenating and vibrant weekend!! 🙂
By the way, I just wanted to also say THANK YOU. Without those of you who read my blog this whole thing would not be possible. You rock. XOXO
BE WELL. <3
