Oh HEY guys!! Happy Tuesday!
I hope you all had a fun, relaxing, and safe weekend, especially those of you who went to a march. I kinda wish I went because it would’ve been a cool experience, but I had an AWESOME weekend regardless. Cal was here so obviously it was a good time! 🙂
We went to a concert on Friday at a cool venue in another part of town. It was such a wonderful night full of great music and a lot of fun, especially on Inauguration Day. I loved that the performers kept reminding us that this is what it’s all about: always having a sense of respect and community.
If you ever get the chance to see Frank Turner and The Sleeping Souls, DO IT. His thing is “positive songs for negative people”, so what more could you want? 😉
On Saturday we had breakfast at home and decided to explore Chinatown a bit. We had our first REAL ramen experience too! Oh my gosh you guys, what took me so long?! I had the ramen called Yuzu Shio vegetarian ramen, which consisted of fresh spring mix, Inari tofu (those triangles on the right), bean sprouts, and other stuff that I don’t know.
I LOVED IT but I couldn’t finish! Believe it or not, this was the “regular” size.
I can only imagine what the “large” size looked like. *Eyes widen*
We were so satisfied after lunch and stopped at Marshall’s for a bit to kill time before 3PM, which is when……
………I got my 3rd tattoo!!!
(For those of you new to A Dancer’s Live-It, I have two other tattoos that you can read about HERE.)
Go ahead and think whatever you want, but this whisk and spatula on the inside of my arm means a lot. I wouldn’t have gotten something if it wasn’t meaningful. Anyone who knows me knows I LOVE to bake.
It’s your birthday tomorrow? I’ll show up on your doorstep with a cake.
Chocolate chip cookies are your favorite? You’ll get a plate the next day.
You’re vegan and gluten-free? Easy peasy! I LOVE vegan and gluten-free baking and have tons of recipes!
Bottom line: I love bringing people baked goods, whether they’re healthier or not, and love watching their faces as they light up with joy. I not only love the final product of baking, but also the process as well. As I said on my Instagram photo of the tattoo:
“‘Stressed’ is ‘desserts’ spelled backwards. No matter what kind of day I’ve had, I know that I’m happiest with a whisk or spatula in my hand. Baking is my therapy.”
I’m so incredibly happy with my newest addition!!! Also, the biggest shoutout goes to my artist, Braden, who also did my two other tattoos. YOU ROCK, DUDE.
If you’ve ever thought about getting a tattoo, here’s my advice: wait 6 months. If you still love it after that time, then get it! If not, keep waiting until something else comes to you. Also keep in mind of placement. It will be on your skin forever! 🙂 Ask your tattoo artist if you’re unsure.
If you need me, I’ll be “baking” the world a better place. 😉
