How-To Tuesday: Making Everyday Life More Blissful

Good morning party people!!! Still gloomy over here….

Today is a perfect day to visit a museum, art gallery, or go shopping, which is exactly what I’ll be doing today.
It will be a very cultured day with my man and I’m excited! 😉

Oh also, happy How-To Tuesday!! 🙂 Today’s topic is a pretty important one, especially for those of you who get stressed out easily.

So have you ever been on a retreat, vacation, or workshop that left you feeling renewed, revitalized, and happier? Your energy is up, and you wonder how you can bring this feeling back to reality. Leaving cloud nine eventually is expected, but keeping that good energy with you when returning home can be done, I promise!

Here are some ideas for recharging your life after a blissful experience:

1. Accept your life exactly how it is.

The environment setting for these relaxing and restorative getaways is often related to learning, growing and relaxing. Most of us aren’t used to this kind of environment at home or work, and that’s okay. No, you don’t have to transform your home into a tropical paradise, but accepting what you have and where you’re at in life now is all you really need to maintain the bliss. Don’t lament when the good energy goes away. Acceptance is what makes those vibes last a lot longer.

2. Find your source.

Did you know that a big boost of energy is always available to you whenever you need it? You can get back to whatever gives you the biggest charge by finding whatever way works best for you. It could be yoga, meditation, reading, or even going for a long run. This is all about you. Get yourself to where you need to be and establish a connection to the source whenever you need that boost. Take time with yourself everyday, no matter how extroverted you are!

3. Know your weakness.

Become aware of what takes away your “power”, there are many things that may!  Think of the apps running on your phone when you’re not using them, they end up draining your battery more quickly. Similarly, don’t keep the things that drain your “battery” running through your mind when you don’t need them. Only give your attention to the things that ultimately will empower you, or are worthy of your time.

4. Identify the little boosts.

Find the little things that you can do to keep you going. Go outside, drink a green smoothie, call up an old friend or family member; these things can really add up! This will help with overall maintenance to help sustain your growth in the long run.

5. Be in the here and now.

At getaways we are at our most present, it’s only natural. But day-to-day no matter who we are and what we do, we are constantly looking  ahead to an unborn or uncertain future. Being present gives us energy and never drains us. This is why kids are always so full of energy! They don’t worry about the future and always live in the moment. Be here and stay focused. Sure, you can plan ahead, but then bring your head back here once you’re done.

Being present isn’t something that just happens, it takes a ton of work trust me. Attempting to hold your thoughts in place takes a strong intellect and could take a lifetime to master. But hey, one day at a time right?

Have a peaceful day all!
